Accelerating community action for fresh water.
Local lakes and rivers are suffering, facing contamination from nearly everything we do on land. Pollution, runoff, development and recreation are threatening the very lifeblood of our freshwater ecosystem.
The stakes are high: but it’s not too late. Our research, education and community programmes will make sure that everyone who touches the water acts to protect it.
WAI Wanaka works with individuals, community groups, farmers, catchment groups, councils, schools and businesses to improve ecosystem health, reverse biodiversity loss and keep the water healthy.
WAI Wānaka’s actions are based on our shared roadmap, it’s called the Community Catchment Plan.
