For more than 55 years, Wangaratta Artists Society Inc. has been bringing artists together to create, learn, experiment, exhibit and share a love of art with our community.
Based at our distinctive home, The Studio at 1A Tone Road, Wangaratta, we are a vibrant community of artists working across a wonderful mix of mediums — from watercolour, oils and acrylics to pastel, drawing, mixed media and more.
And you certainly don’t have to be an accomplished artist to join us.
Our community includes everyone from absolute beginners picking up a brush for the first time to experienced and award-winning artists. What brings us together is curiosity, creativity and the simple pleasure of making art alongside other people who love it too.
Throughout the year, The Studio comes alive with workshops, demonstrations, painting sessions, visiting professional artists, exhibitions and opportunities to learn new techniques and develop existing skills.
Our workshops bring respected artists and tutors to Wangaratta, giving artists from across North East Victoria and beyond the opportunity to access high-quality tuition without having to travel to a major city.
At the heart of the Society is our belief that art should be accessible, encouraging and shared. The Studio is more than somewhere to paint — it is a place for creative growth, friendship, conversation, inspiration and connection.
Our Annual Exhibition is one of the highlights of our year, throwing open the doors of The Studio and celebrating the extraordinary creativity of our members with the wider community.
