Repair - Share - Care
Warrnambool Repair Café is a free event offered on the first Saturday of the month, 10am to noon. It is run by the community for the community.
At a Repair Cafe session visitors are given the opportunity to bring their broken item from home. Together with the volunteer ‘fixer’, they start making their repairs. It’s an ongoing learning process fostering concepts of sustainability, community and skill-sharing. Repair Cafes bring many benefits: they extend the life of items that would likely end up in landfill, they pass on valuable fixing skills and knowledge ie FIY (fix-it-yourself), they are a great antidote to the ‘throw it out and get a new one’ way of thinking, and they are fabulous social and networking events. Please check our Facebook page for details of each event, as we have different fixers at each event, and bookings are recommended.
Warrnambool Repair Cafe is an initiative of the Merrivale Community Association proudly supported by the host venue. If you have a venue and would like to host a Repair Cafe session please make contact and let's have a chat.
