Queenstown Lakes' Welcoming Communities | Te Waharoa ki ngā Hapori programme supports newcomers to feel welcome and able to participate in the economic, civic, cultural and social life of their new community.
Welcoming Week New Zealand - Te Wiki o Manaaki Aotearoa - showcases and celebrates how communities are working to be more welcoming places for all. It’s an opportunity to celebrate our diverse communities through local events and initiatives that foster mutual understanding, stronger connections, and deeper belonging among all of us – particularly long-time residents and newcomers.
As part of Welcoming Week, and supported by the Queenstown Lakes District Council, the Community Connect - Ways to Wellbeing events are a collaboration between the Headlight Trust (empowering our community to support its mental wellbeing) and the Lakes Multicultural Collective (Honouring cultures, strengthening communities, & creating impact for the Queenstown Lakes region)
