Established in 1992, the Trust is a charitable trust, the public face of
which is an annual awards evening to celebrate and recognise
achievement in the diverse Wellington theatre community.
Awards cover playwrights, actors and the full range of technicians,
set designers and the like who help bring productions to the stage.
Behind the awards lies our judging team who annually views
and report on well over 100 productions in the Wellington
area, and determine the winners of each award.
The Trust’s fundamental purpose is to foster theatre and the
development of the theatre arts in Wellington, helping to embed the
city as the cultural capital of Aotearoa – a place where creativity
flourishes and creative minds choose to live and work.
