Lizzy is a certified professional in human factors and ergonomics (think usability or service design) as well as a permaculture designer, practitioner and educator.
Lizzy works to create enjoyable regenerative systems for community and organisations.
Lizzy owns and manages WorkSmith, a design consultancy; and the application Permaculture., a free app to showcase all things Permaculture and homesteading.
Practicing permaculture since the realisation that one barrow load of mulch was not going to cut it on a hilly block of one acre of shale and gums, Lizzy's home and garden are reality-based examples of Permaculture - Living Well.
Living Well is a 2 day event to introduce people to the ethics and principles of Permaculture, designing systems to live well with nature... from headspace to home, to garden to out of the gate...
Over the last 5 years, Lizzy has worked with an amazing Australian social enterprise; and supported the design of co-operative projects with some dedicated locals in the Ngunnawal and Ngambri regions in Australia. (Canberra region).
Recently Lizzy embarked on a project (with Vee Malnar) to build a 'creative futures studio' using the themes of solar punk and permaculture via the platform of visual arts to inspire imagination of positive futures we can create.
Lizzy presented a workshop on solarpunk at the Australian Pacific Permaculture Convergence 2023 and has created a video with Vee Malnar which was first exhibited in SA and can be viewed on the Worksmith Youtube channel.
With a guild of other Permaculture educators, Lizzy is coordinating a Permaculture Design course for the Southern Tablelands/ Canberra Region for 2024 and also enjoys long lunches with SECNA and the local regenerative networks.
