World Stroke Day is held on 29th October each year. It is an opportunity to raise awareness of the serious nature and high rates of stroke, talk about prevention and treatment and ensure better care and support for survivors.
Since 2016, the City of Newcastle Lord Mayor has hosted a morning tea event to support and grow awareness of not just the impact of stroke on people in our community, but of the incredible research by the brightest minds at Hunter Medical Research Institute's Brain Health program.
You'll hear about the latest in stroke research, the invaluable support services in place in our region, and from people sharing their lived experience of stroke.
It's free, but tickets are limited so get in early to ensure your spot.
