The Festival of Action is a collaborative, student-staff-community initiative at Western Sydney University that brings people together through creative, participatory and action-oriented events focused on climate justice, sustainability and social change.
Our events connect research, teaching, learning and community engagement, creating opportunities for students, staff, community organisations and local changemakers to share knowledge, build relationships and take collective action. From community clothes swaps and repair activities to film screenings, workshops and public conversations, we create spaces for collaboration, action and meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
Grounded in principles of care, inclusion and climate justice, the Festival of Action brings research into conversation with community knowledge and lived experience, supports grassroots initiatives, and strengthens connections between the university and its communities.
