Transform Screen Time into Team Time: A Workshop with Australian Gaming Pioneer Russ Jalakai
Video games are played in a staggering 96% of Australian households, but navigating them doesn't have to mean constant battles over screen time.
Join Russ Jalakai—one of Australia’s original professional gamers and 2000 World Cyber Games representative in Korea—for an insightful, practical 2-hour workshop designed to bridge the gap between parents and gamers.
Drawing from his career at the highest levels of competitive gaming, Russ has developed a unique approach to help families build healthy, constructive gaming habits. Instead of allowing online gaming to foster isolation or conflict, this workshop offers proven methods to protect family connection, build digital resilience, and turn a potential point of friction into an opportunity for growth.
What to expect:
Practical Strategies: Gain actionable tools to set constructive boundaries and encourage balanced habits at home.
Industry Insights: Understand why and how games are designed to keep players engaged, giving you a clearer perspective on your child's digital world.
A Preview of the Full Course: Get a firsthand look at the core principles and methods behind Russ’s comprehensive program.
Open Conversation: Bring your child along to talk video games in a positive, shared space, or come on your own to learn from an industry insider.
Whether you're looking to understand the appeal of gaming or ready to establish healthier routines at home, this workshop will give you the confidence and clarity to guide your family through the modern digital landscape.
