Born from a desire to play together, COMMUNICATE is the brainchild of Tāmaki Makaurau based DJs Cyril Orson and Heylady.
These two stalwarts of the New Zealand scene have been ferreting away rhythm for well over 50 years between them, and they’ve been playing for just as long. Since banding together they have played across Aotearoa at some of New Zealand’s biggest festivals and club nights. They have quickly garnered a reputation as one of the acts to follow, with their combined passion and experience they bring an energy to the floor that is hypnotising, all-encompassing and unmistakable.
On top of their DJing career, COMMUNICATE run two solid club nights;
XCOMMUNICATE is a 6 hour journey through sound spanning decades. Played 3 times a year in Auckland, the night jumps around various clubs, never the same journey, each time a different venue always the duo playing one for one all night long.
Sonik Tonik is one of Auckland's longest running club nights. Started well over 20 years ago by Cyril Orson, it's had many partners over the years, copious nights in some of the most well recognised venues in Auckland and is now driven by COMMUNICATE themselves. Bringing the only the best talent NZ has to offer, each lineup is carefully curated to provide killer sound all night long.
