Yoga for Youth is an initiative developed by Rebecca Cooper to provide teens aged 12 - 18 years old with affordable, accessible and quality yoga classes to improve the health and wellbeing of youth in the Mackay Northern Beaches area. Rebecca has 13 years experience as Secondary Health and Physical Education Teacher, 11 years as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer and 2 years as a Vinyasa Yoga Teacher. Yoga for Youth's aim is to empower young people with experiences and skills to live a healthy, well and connected life. Our key objectives are:
- improve overall sense of wellbeing and mental health
- increase physical activity levels
- improve sleep quality
- improve health equity of young people in the Mackay Northern Beaches
