My jump rope journey began in the USA, where I first started skipping for Jump Rope for Heart and competed and trained at a national level through my school. Since then, I’ve travelled the world, played competitive volleyball, raised two children and continued to stay active in different ways. Now, I work full time managing a Disability Services provider, I have my own business, am launching my own clothing brand and as part of my own wellness journey, I wanted to create something that helps people get fit while having fun, learning new skills and connecting with others.
I’ve previously taught jump rope tricks and skills overseas as part of an extracurricular program at an international school, and I’m excited to bring that experience to Perth through Skips & Beats.
Skips & Beats is about making movement fun and accessible for everyone. Whether you’re picking up a rope for the first time or want to learn new tricks and challenge yourself, you’re welcome.
Perth has a growing fitness community, but Western Australia has been the only state without a Skipping Australia club or program. I’m hoping to change that by creating a place where people of all ages and fitness levels can learn, move and have fun with a jump rope.
Come along, grab a rope and let’s get skipping!
