Introducing our second event in the Adelaide University Media Association's 'Hot Takes' series: Film and TV awards are overrated
• Are awards reflective of genuine excellence within industries, or do they merely reinforce dominant cultural tastes and power structures?
• Is the prestige of awards declining in contemporary culture?
• Do film and tv awards address/transcend inequalities or do they exacerbate them?
These are the types of questions we will be discussing with our panel of experts (and ultimately film nerds)
