Guest Speakers - Kerrie Noonan and Holly Smith

Adjunct A/Prof Kerrie Noonan - Director, Death Literacy Institute

Dr Kerrie Noonan is a clinical psychologist, researcher, and educator with more than 25 years’ experience in palliative care, bereavement, and community development. She is Director of Research at Western NSW Local Health District, co-founder of the Death Literacy Institute, and Adjunct Associate Professor with La Trobe University’s Public Health Palliative Care Unit. Kerrie is internationally recognised for her pioneering work on death literacy, a concept and set of tools she co-developed to measure and strengthen community capacity around death, dying, and loss. Her research spans public health approaches to palliative care, compassionate communities, and innovative models of practice that bridge health services, social care, and grassroots networks.

Holly Smith - Senior Project Officer, HELP Project La Trobe University

Holly Rankin Smith is a community development leader with over 15 years’ experience in health, arts, and social change. Holly specialises in end-of-life and palliative care initiatives, currently working with La Trobe University’s Healthy End of Life Program and the HELP App. Her work empowers communities to create compassionate and connected approaches to ageing and dying.
