HOTBED: Traditional and Contemporary Dance from First Nations Australia and Taiwan w/ Gapu Ngupan (Chasing the Rainbow)

An immersive journey through Yolngu and Paiwan dance traditions and contemporary expression.
Join the choreographers and dancers of Gapu Ngupan (Chasing the Rainbow) in this dynamic 2-hour workshop. You'll be introduced to traditional movements and gestures from both Yolngu and Paiwan cultures, followed by the opportunity to learn contemporary choreographic sequences from their recent work.
Led by Rachael Wallis and Piya Talaliman, this workshop offers an exciting chance for movers to engage with First Nations dance.
What to bring: Please wear comfortable dance attire and bring a sarong to layer over for traditional movements.
Experience: Open to all levels of movers with an interest in First Nations performance.
