Event description

Presented by Dr Bradley Patten

HOTSPOTS is an award winning tool that supports reporting and monitoring of bullying, discrimination, harassment, and inclusion experienced and witnessed by medical students on clinicla placements. Bradley will give an overview of HOTSPOTS including why it exists, who it serves, how it works, and what it delivers. Challenges around its creation will also be outlined, and time for questions will be provided.

Bradley Patten is the Portfolio Lead - Equity at the University of Auckland. He has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Auckland and has worked with quantitative and qualitative data in the tertiary sector since 2014. While working as the psychometrician in the Medical Programme, he helped develop HOTSPOTS - an anonymous reporting tool for Bullying, Discrimination, and Harassment. This tool won a national health and safety award in 2022 and has been in place in the Medical Programme since 2018. He is also a Movember Ambassador so if you run out of other questions, ask him about that.
