Event description

House of McLeod Presents: Organically Geometric

Organically Geometric is the debut exhibition of Maitland based mixed media artist, Toni McLeod, better know by her business pseudonym, House of McLeod. Organically Geometric showcases her love for challenging the perception that nature and geometry are mutually exclusive. The collection contains both realism and abstraction of botanicals and geometric form, as well as a nod to the sometimes darker side of the human psyche.

Organically Geometric opens of Friday the 21st of February at 6:30pm, with complimentary beverages courtesy of local wine make Lisa Mcguigan and light snacks. Playstate on Fern welcomes everyone to join Toni in celebrating her debut opening. If you can't make it on the evening, Organically Geometric is open to the public until the 4th of March. Playstate on Fern is open 10-4 Tuesday to Saturday for viewing.

RSVP to our opening evening to receive access to the Organically Geometric Catalogue and secure your place on the evening.

About House of McLeod:

Create with passion, not constraints, make marks without rules. This is the creative philosophy of Toni, founder of House of McLeod. Toni is a mixed media artist from Maitland, NSW, with a love of botanicals and geometry. Working predominantly in acrylic on paper and mixed media collage, her favourite tools include a gel plate.

After a 15 year obsession with textiles and contemplating a career change from mining to fashion design, Toni was introduced to watercolour pencils in 2018 at a fashion illustration workshop at the Whitehouse Institute of Design and rediscovered her love of art. Being largely self taught was no deterrent, and she created her brand and small business “House of McLeod” in 2020. Acrylic and mixed media became the preferred medium in 2024, and art became her chosen career.
