This discussion will bring together key community organisations and voters to discuss the most pressing housing challenges in Brisbane and explore solutions for a more affordable and fair housing system.
With housing affordability and availability at a breaking point, millions of Australians are struggling to find a safe, secure place to call home. This event offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from Mr Bates about his vision for addressing these challenges and to engage in a collaborative discussion on how we can create a fairer housing system for all.

Maiy is National Spokesperson for Everybody’s Home. She is also the Deputy Director of Anglicare Australia - a network of welfare and caring organisations linked to the Anglican Church.
Stephen Bates
Stephen is the greens member for Brisbane and is passionate about renters’ rights, housing justice, universal and free health and education, climate action and putting people before profit.
Joel Dignam
Joel Dignam is the Executive Director of Better Renting with a background in organising and campaigning for non-profits. He is passionate about renters' rights and completed a Churchill Fellowship through the US and the UK in 2022, learning from tenant movement organisations.
