Join us for a live discussion with expert Natalie Cohen* on how DFAT advances Australia’s United Nations commitments under the Sustainable Development Goals.
Come along to learn about how Australia advances the Sustainable Development Goals, and how you could be directly involved in progressing UN initiatives through a career with DFAT.
The event will be a live question and answer session co-hosted by the United Nations Association of Australia Victoria Young Professionals committee and the Australian Institute of International Affairs Victoria.
*Natalie Cohen is the Assistant Secretary for Development Policy, Governance and Conflict Prevention in the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). She recently completed a posting as the Counsellor overseeing development and human rights at the Australian Mission to the United Nations in New York.
For the last 15 years, Ms Cohen has worked for DFAT and former AusAID in Canberra, Jakarta and New York on development, humanitarian, multilateral partnerships and corporate management. She was an Adviser to the Minister for International Development in 2013. She has previously held advisory positions on health in the Australian Departments of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and Health.
Ms Cohen is a passionate advocate for gender equality and women’s empowerment, and was Vice President of the UN Women Executive Board in 2019.
