Event description

Will you be going purple on August 30?

Every year, millions of people around Australia and around the world celebrate Wear It Purple® Day – a day dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ young people. It's more important than ever to create inclusive spaces, workplaces, schools and classrooms, and it's more important than ever to be standing out against discrimination.

In fact, despite how far we've come, 2 in 3 LGBTQIA+ young people still experience discrimination and harassment just for being who they are. We say enough is enough, and that we need to do better.

Tune in on Tuesday 23 July to chat with Team Minus18 about what you're planning, how to get involved, and how to go purple.

Especially if it's your first time! If you've seen how queer young people have been attacked and targeted all over the world by anti-LGBTQIA+ groups and you're inspired to take a stand – we're here to make it as easy as possible.

What to Expect

  • Tips and recommendations on how to host an activity for Wear It Purple® Day - a morning tea, Lunch n' Learn, classroom discussion, Pride Group event, or something within your small business

  • How to ensure it has ongoing impact
