How To Grow Great Organic Food and Flowers
$90
Sunday 15 September 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Snappingly fresh, fragrant vegies straight from the garden are sweet, crisp, and bursting with nutrients. They are the the most delicious fresh foods you can enjoy. At this hands on class, Linda will introduce you to the wonderful options for organic and biodynamic gardening that help you grow an abundance of healthy food.Â
It's always a wonderful way to lean about growing, as we work in Linda's organic vegetable and flower gardens. You'll experience first-hand how to succeed as we love to get our hands into the soil, the biodynamic compost and maybe even take a peek at the worm farms in this class. Â
We'll begin by exploring the ways to make dirt into healthy, lively garden soil that's rich with beneficial microbes and fertility, moisture and minerals - all essential for the most vibrant food and flowers. And we'll look at the options for organics, what to use and what you'll no longer need in your garden shed.Â
It's such fun to grow a whole range of flowers and vegies that you can't get in the shops (-there are so many awesome varieties). You'll learn how to prepare your garden for sowing both seedlings and seeds so you have fewer challenges and many more abundant successes.Â
We'll also cover seasonal planting for spring and summer - what to plant when, the basics of rotation to prevent disease and promote plant health, and we'll look at harvesting the produce that you grow at the optimal time.Â
As Linda is a permaculture teacher, she also weaves this life-giving practice through the class as well. Come 4 o'clock, you'll be inspired to grow your own organic food straight away. You'll be able to start as soon as you get home!
This particular class opportunity comes about once a year, so drop everything and book a spot for you or a friend, so you can make the most of the beautiful weather and our great growing season.Â
Please bring your own lunch. Linda will provide a delicious garden-harvested morning tea for us, as well as drinks for lunch.Â
Bring a hat for the sun, and a card or cash to purchase organic garden products.
