    Event description

Having a welcome video on your course site is a great way to build student engagement and connection, even before your course has started. A good welcome video can help relieve student anxiety and uncertainty, make the content and teaching staff more relatable and help create a sense of belonging.

However, recording yourself (and watching it back) can be a daunting process!

Join CLT for this hands-on workshop where you will learn basic presenting techniques such as scripting, gesturing, vocal techniques and using slides effectively - plus learn how to film and produce your videos using a variety of approaches (DYI, studio, mobile device).

This workshop aims to help build confidence, so that you will become more comfortable in front of the camera. You will learn what to include in your video so you can connect with your students online and help make your course site more than just a repository of content.

This workshop is open to any ANU staff, not just teaching staff - as professional staff can utilise these skills to help create staff training or instructional videos or more.

Please bring a draft script to the workshop as we’ll do some script editing during the workshop. You’ll have the chance to film your video in our studio at the end of the workshop (optional).

Don’t need presentation training and just want to start making a video? Book into the CLT/CASS studio.
