Event description

This interactive session will explore how you can give your place-or-community-based project the best chance of success.

Why you should attend this session

Place projects are complex and challenging.

According to studies, some 60–90% of strategic plans never fully launch. The causes of derailment vary widely. While poor implementation is one key reason, the strategy preparation and design process itself can be the real problem, according to the Harvard Business Review.

This session and the online course provide principles, ideas and approaches for place-based projects, plus practical, street-level secrets from practitioners with decades of experience.

What you get

  • This 90 minute facilitated interactive session where you get a chance to learn from your peers, PLUS

  • Complimentary access to the How to lead successful place-based projects online course, which goes into more detail. You'll receive 5 months access to learn at your own pace, when you have time, PLUS

  • A Project Plan template

What will it help you with
  • Save time and reduce the risks by learning what to do and not do before you begin

  • Some of the key skills needed

  • The conventional masterplanning approach compared with the agile, iterative 'Strategic Doing' approach
