Calling all sushi lovers

Learn step by step how to make sushi like the Japanese masters. This fun and friendly class will show you how to make sushi rice and how to roll it to perfection, all the while hearing interesting sushi facts to bolster your trivia knowledge. Four Types of Sushi will be made which include California Roll, Smoke Salmon Roll, Honey Chicken Roll and Vegetable Roll.

** The first 30 participants to register will receive a FREE sushi making kit (to use in the workshop) including:

- Sushi rice 

- Sushi roller

- Nori (seaweed) 

- Chopsticks

- Wasabi 

- Ginger

Lyzrhyn is passionate about sushi and knows how to make it well. She has worked as a sushi maker in two restaurants over two years. When she stopped working, she began to make her own at home. Lyzrhyn knows that sushi can be expensive to buy and wants to show students that making sushi at home is easy and a lot more fun! 


Workshop Requirements:

Tools:

  •  1 Sushi Roller
  •  Rice Cooker or pot
  •  Sushi Knife or other sharp knife
  •  Chopping Board 

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet Nori/ Sushi Seaweed Brand=Kimnori/Yaki Nori Sushi)
  • 750gms Sushi Rice (Brand= Sunrice)
  • 750ml Japanese Rice Wine Vinegar (Brand=Obento)
  • Japanese Mayonnaise (Brand=Kewpie)
  • 2 Avocados
  • 2 Cucumbers
  • 1 Lettuce 
  • 200g fresh Salmon 
  • 1 packet Crab Stick (frozen is fine)
  • 250g chicken breast or tofu 
  • Flour
  • Honey 
  • 1L Cooking Oil
  • Sushi Soy Sauce or other soy sauce
  • Wasabi (optional)
  • ginger (optional) 

The tools and ingredients can be purchased in Woolworths, Coles and Asian Grocery Stores.
