How to set (and maintain!) boundaries at work and at home
Event description
Do you ever find yourself:
- saying 'yes' when you want to say 'no' ... then bristling with resentment almost immediately?
- spending so much of your precious time, energy and attention on other people's priorities that you have almost nothing left for the relationships and activities that are important to you?
- feeling anxious, regretful or guilt-ridden because you've mustered up the courage to prioritise your own needs instead of putting everyone else first?
For most of us, setting boundaries feels hard. Really hard. And maintaining them can be even tougher. Yet when our boundaries are fuzzy, rigid or non-existent, our wellbeing, relationships and career fulfilment inevitably suffer.
In this workshop, we'll explore:
- the three phases of boundary-setting and BMVL (body, mind, voice and language) that help (and hinder!) your success in each.
- what to do when others are unwilling to respect (or even acknowledge!) your boundaries
- the gender-based messages that can influence our approach to setting boundaries and how to dial down their impact
Please note this event is for women only.
THE FACILITATOR: ANNA LEE
Anna started her first business 14 years ago, when her firstborn was 6 weeks old. Her mission: to help women take charge of their lives and careers. Over the next six years Anna worked with hundreds of women across all levels of organisational hierarchies, from recent graduates to CEOs. In 2014 her desire to take a more systemic approach to workplace inclusion saw Anna partner with her brother Diarmid at Leed Consulting.
Anna returned to the the women’s development sphere in 2021 with the launch of Hacks for Her, which focuses on equipping women with the career navigation skills required to succeed in workplaces that, for the most part, are still designed for and by men.
HACKS FOR HER CAREER CONVERSATIONS
Hacks for Her Career Conversations offer an introduction to tools, frameworks and skills that will help you navigate your career - and life - with courage, clarity and confidence. These short, highly interactive workshops provide an opportunity for your to slow down (even if only for two hours!) and reflect on what you want out of your life and career, and what you need to do (or stop doing) to go about getting it.
