    Event description

Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought

The Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund (the Fund) is a secure, continuous investment to help farmers and communities to prepare for drought. The Fund is investing $29.6 million over three years to implement the Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought Initiative (HRCPDI), which extends and integrates the Networks to Build Drought Resilience Program (delivered by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal, or FRRR), and the Drought Resilience Leaders Program (delivered by the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation, or ARLF). The Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought Initiative brings together five elements that directly support communities to adapt to and prepare for the impacts of drought, and enhance the public good in agriculture dependent communities.

    • Community Impact Program (Community Impact Grants delivered by FRRR and Community Leadership Activities delivered by ARLF)
    • Small Network Grants (delivered by FRRR)
    • National Expertise Pool (delivered by FRRR)
    • National Mentoring Program (delivered by ARLF)
    • National Leaning Network (delivered by ARLF)

Evaluation Working Session Webinar for Grant Recipients

As part of the evaluation of the HRCPDI, Nous Group have been running evaluation working sessions for FRRR grant recipients. The aim of these sessions is to build your organisation's understanding of the evaluation approach and provide advice and tools so you can report on the outcomes of your projects.

While many Community Impact Program grantees would have participated in these already, we welcome all Small Network Grants and Community Impact Program grantees to a final series of sessions.

The working session will be virtual and run for 60 mins. The session will cover:

    • Welcome and introductions
    • Background on the HRCPD Initiative
    • Overview of the HRCPD Initiative Impact Evaluation
    • Practical advice on how to measure and report on your project outcomes to support the Impact Evaluation
    • Next steps

We welcome representatives from organisations delivering projects in the Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought Initiative to join one of three sessions:

    • 11 September 10:30am – 11:30am (AEST)
    • 12 September 11am – 12pm (AEST)
    • 13 September 11:30am – 12:30pm (AEST)

    Next Steps:

    • Register to attend a session by clicking ‘Get Tickets above
    • A Zoom Meeting Link will be sent to you on your ticket when you register
    • One week prior to the session Nous will share background materials and an editable pack with templates that we will use as part of the session.
    • You do not need to complete any activities in advance. Nous will run through the activities with you during the session.

If you have any questions or require further information on the Evaluation, please do not hesitate to contact FRRR at futuredrought@frrr.org.au or Nous at hrcpdievaluation@nousgroup.com.
