🎙️Topic: Increasing the uptake of guideline directed medical therapies in CKD

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a growing global public health challenge, with a substantial burden of cardiovascular and kidney-related morbidity. Over the past decade, new therapies have emerged that can slow CKD progression and reduce the risk of cardiovascular and kidney outcomes. However, translating evidence from clinical trials into routine clinical practice remains a challenge. This presentation will examine the key barriers and enablers to the uptake of evidence-based CKD therapies in Canada, with a particular focus on the healthcare context and clinical practice environment in the province of British Columbia. It will also discuss potential strategies to improve the implementation and equitable use of these therapies in routine care.

🗣️ Presented by: Dr Tae Won Yi (Winner of HSRAANZ’s 2024 Best Implementation Science Paper)
