Event description
Small World Small Wonder is a poetry workshop with published poet Lizz Murphy exploring people and place in our own small worlds. The focus is on small poems (or brief prose) from quick glimpses and fleeting observations to the small detail. There may be poetry around the corner or right at your feet.
Small World Small Wonder will be held on Saturday November 8, 10 am to 3 pm in St Brigid’s Hall, 36 Vernon Street, Goulburn.
Beginners and the more experienced are invited to join Lizz for a day talking and writing about place. Includes writing exercises, time to write and examples of people and place poetry in a variety of styles. Students sixteen and over are welcome.
Participants may like to bring photographs from their own locality for inspiration and to share.
Published poet Lizz Murphy has facilitated popular writing workshops over many years across the Southern Tablelands and Highlands and interstate. She has published 15 books including ten poetry titles. Born in Belfast, Lizz has lived in Binalong, rural NSW for a long time.
