The Shape of Attention - Parent and Child Studio Workshop
Description
Book a date with your child - two hours set aside for shared creativity.
The Shape of Attention is a Slow Sundays studio workshop designed for parents and children to slow down, learn the art of observation and paint, side-by-side.
Together we’ll explore perception - how light, shadow, colour and form shift depending on where and how we look.
The session begins with a gentle floor introduction exploring how attention shapes what we notice. From there, we move to a beautifully curated studio table inspired by late summer - natural objects, seasonal forms, shifting light.
Each participant will be guided through a drawing exercise before creating their own painting using gouache on fine art paper.
No two works will be the same - each painting emerging from individual observation and interpretation. Parents and children will create their own works side by side.
This is not about copying. It is about learning to see - and understanding that the individuality of our perception shapes our experience of the world around us.
