Chasing Adventure Film Night

Join us for a night celebrating adventure on the big screen, while raising funds for the NZ Cancer Society. Around the Bend documents Dave (Hokitika) and Scott's (Tarras) attempt to beat the fastest known time for paddling the entire length of the Yukon river completely unsupported. Paddling from Whitehorse Canada to the Bering Sea in Alaska, a distance of just over 3000km in one of the most remote regions on the planet. Raising funds for cancer was a major driver behind their relentless effort, as both have been touched by the disease. This film night of chasing adventure also includes two other short films - Scott's kayak/land mission to the remote east coast of Greenland, SOLO - and Revenant The Race of Hope and Failure - a film about one of the world's toughest ultra adventure races, held right here in the South Island of New Zealand. Both Dave and Scott will be attending and will host a Q&A session at the end of the film. All ticket proceeds will go to the New Zealand Cancer Society something both Dave and Scott are passionate about.
