Human capital management and COVID-19 in the 2020 AGM season

This event has passed Register

Event description

The COVID-19 crisis has both illuminated and intensified economic inequality. The growth of temporary, casualised and precarious work in recent years has left some workers more exposed to the impacts of the pandemic than others. In Melbourne - like cities globally - the second wave of the pandemic is predominantly due to transmission in the workplaces and homes of essential, typically low-paid workers, who are unable to work from home.

ACCR has produced a brief to guide investor engagement on workplace issues during the pandemic. The brief draws on the experiences of front line workers in Australia, and on lessons from the 2020 US and UK AGM seasons.

Join ACCR and essential workers from the cleaning, security and logistics sector to hear about how investors can engage companies on how they are protecting workers’ - and broader public health - in the short term, to properly manage their human capital and enhance value creation in the long term
