Description:

Human trafficking is a crime that thrives in the shadows, hiding in plain sight.  It survives, because most people do not know they are seeing it when it is in front of them.  In this workshop, you will learn how to identify human trafficking both in the community and in your office, how to respond when you suspect trafficking, and how to help trafficking survivors heal. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. 1. Define the scope of trafficking both worldwide and locally.
  2. 2. Identify the five types of trafficking
  3. 3. Understand factors that keep people from leaving trafficking situations
  4. 4. Identify how to determine if someone has been trafficked
  5. 5. Describe the effects of Brainwashing/Undue Influence and how they apply to trafficking
  6. 6. Describe the effects of Trauma Bonds/Stockholm Syndrome and how they apply to trafficking
  7. 7. Create a plan for treating a trafficking survivor
  8. 8. Define Post-Traumatic Growth and how it applies to trafficking
