From medicalisation to humanisation

The future of childbirth relies on the need to humanise childbirth. Currently the overmedicalisation and industrialised approaches within maternity services are leaving women traumatised and adding to the stress and burnout of midwives. Humanising birth is about respectful care and a reclamation of birth with a recognition of what birth means to each woman, with her at the centre of care. This seminar includes the leading international voices on the humanising birth movement.
