Event description
You probably know the old saying “Laughter is the Best Medicine”. And it’s true! When we laugh our bodies release endorphins, the feel-good hormones produced in the brain which act as mood-boosters and natural painkillers. They also boost immunity, so with benefits for physical, as well as mental, health. After laughter, muscles and arteries relax, as well as blood pressure dropping. No adverse side effects and completely free. What’s not to like?
Daph Richardson has worked in this area of ‘humour therapy’ for quite a while and is convening a free session of merriment and mayhem to show how it’s done. You’re invited to bring funny cups, teatowels, wigs and stuff from the dress-up box if don’t mind looking ridiculous and behaving foolishly for a while. There’s a less well-known saying “If you can’t laugh at yourself, no-one will take you seriously” and that’s true as well!
