HURRIYYAH YOGA for PALESTINE
Event description
HURRIYA YOGA for Palestine.
Of course, true relief for our Palestinian whānau can only come when Israel ends its brutal campaign of apartheid, occupation, and genocide — violence that continues to devastate lives, land, and futures.
And yet, through it all, Palestinians rise. With unimaginable courage, they resist — with dignity, with strength, with love for one another.
“Hurriya” means freedom. So does mukti — the kind of freedom one moves toward through practices such as yoga: not just for personal ease, but liberation - from structures internal and external that keep one bound and oppressed.
Revolution doesn’t always begin with fire. But rather, a single breath. A shift in awareness. A small, conscious act of defiance.
When we return to our bodies — we can decolonise the ways we’ve been shaped to disconnect, numb, comply — and plant the seeds of intent, for transformation.
These weekly Sunday morning yoga sessions are an inclusive space to grow our internal strength and fortify collective strength. Remember we are not alone. Let's breathe together, move together and echo freedom — into the body, the community, the world.
