Event description

Hygge Notes: A Tasmanian Retreat for Registered Music Therapists

Inspired by the Danish concept of hygge - warmth, comfort, and connection

Hygge Notes is a roving professional retreat designed exclusively for Registered Music Therapists. Across four days, you’ll travel through some of Tasmania’s most beautiful and inspiring locations, immersing yourself in shared music-making, meaningful conversations, and restorative experiences that nourish both your professional and personal self.

Based in Devonport, the retreat unfolds across multiple nature-based locations that celebrate Tasmania’s natural beauty, and exceptional local food and wine. The program blends professional learning, cultural connection, creative workshops, and slow, soul-filling moments. From Tasmanian platters and wine at a local vineyard, guided nature walks, with some of the most inspiring business leaders, presenters and music therapy leaders. On the final day, we'll be heading to the glorious boat shed which sits at Dove Lake, under Cradle Mountain to share music together.

Participants will need a vehicle (Car pool and catch the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry or hire) and a sense of adventure as we roam together through Tasmania’s north west, culminating at Cradle Mountain to experience the breathtaking turning of the fagus, a rare and spectacular autumn display unique to lutruwita/Tasmania.

This retreat invites you to pause, breathe, reconnect, and remember why you fell in love with music therapy in the first place.

This warm and inspiring retreat is limited to just 40 places, and we’re now welcoming expressions of interest from Registered Music Therapists across Australia who are ready to slow down, reconnect, and share in a truly Tasmanian adventure.

(Please note: Submitting an RSVP is obligation-free - it simply lets us know you’d like to receive more information and be the first to hear when tickets are released. This retreat is hosted by Registered Music Therapists Alex Morse and Ann Lehmann-Kuit from Creative Therapies Tasmania)
