Event description

26th Jan. Some call it Invasion Day. Others call it Australia Day. Scomo feels sorry for Captain Cook, watch here.

What does it mean to you?

Join us to dialogue around a campfire in the Babakiueria (BBQ area - see 30 min parody film here if you've not watched it)

At wildspace, we value diversity and dialogue. Hence, our controversial conversations are likely to discomfort and unsettle. However, we are well aware that if they are held in a safe and accepting space, such spaces provide the chance to grow our minds and deepen our hearts.

How can we start to imagine decolonisation? Tyson Yunkaporta uses the phrase 'unbranding our mind' (here), Jaja Dere, says 'Truth telling through story is an epic part of decolonising. The system is cracking and it is up to all of us to listen deeply. It is time to evolve into what is not only possible, but necessary' (here).... Black sovereignty is about the wellbeing of everyone: Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous. We all need to take part(here)

There are many of us associated with wildspace who are keen to explore decolonising our minds, if you share this desire or have a passion in this area, we'd love you to join us for a dialogue campfire.
