I Feel Love: An Interactive Book Club with Rachel Nuwer, Rick Doblin, Gul Dolen, Joseph McCowan and Matthew Baggott
Event description
Tactogen is proud to present a four virtual book club diving into "I Feel Love: MDMA and the Quest for Connection in a Fractured World" by acclaimed science journalist Rachel Nuwer. Through 90-minute sessions held on Mondays from 10/16 to 11/6, we'll engage in a rich discussion on MDMA's past, present, and future role in mental healthcare and society.
Rachel will lead each interactive session alongside expert guests, including neuroscientist Gül Dölen, clinical psychologist Joseph McCowan, MAPS founder Rick Doblin, and neuroscientist and Tactogen CEO Matthew Baggott, as we reflect on key insights from the book. How did MDMA emerge from the shadows to the forefront of psychedelic medicine? What does research reveal about its ability to catalyze healing? How might it transform our understanding of the brain, trauma, and human connection?
Participants will gain a deeper appreciation for MDMA's therapeutic mechanisms and potential, while envisioning its responsible integration into the mainstream. At the intersection of science, medicine, and culture, this book club promises fascinating discourse on society's evolving relationship with psychedelics.
Proceeds will be donated to MAPS and Athenaeum, two organizations that support psychedelic research, education, and community.Â
