An interdisciplinary experience of instruction, language and serendipity curated in response to Poetry goes no further than language.  

Performance Curation: The Buxton Project is a collaborative subject between Buxton Contemporary, the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and the Victorian College of the Arts. Students are immersed in the process of creative curation as they develop a public performance inspired by the gallery’s exhibitions and the Buxton Collection. This hands-on learning experience fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, expands students' creative practice and provides a comprehensive understanding of the many elements involved in a performance event.

Poetry goes no further than language

Buxton Contemporary's current exhibition Poetry goes no further than language revisits a defining moment in 1980s China, when artists began to question the very foundations of art. Featuring works by the Beijing collective New Measurement Group and Shanghai-based artist Qian Weikang, the exhibition brings these seldom seen experiments to Australia for the first time, alongside a new commission by Melbourne-based artist Darcey Bella Arnold. Curated by Liu Ding and Carol Yinghua Lu.
