Travel instructions

The University of Melbourne's Parkville campus is only a few minutes from the centre of Melbourne and has many public transport stops within walking distance. You can enter your current location and travel destination into the Public Transport Victoria Journey Planner for personalised instructions for tram, train and bus connections for travelling to any University of Melbourne campus. Many low floor trams go to the University of Melbourne. The stop is right in front of the Sidney Myer Asia Centre on Swanston street. Public parking is available at three locations within the Parkville campus. A number of other public car parks are also available within walking distance from the Parkville campus. Entry instructions

Tram: Alight at Melbourne University / Swanston St #1. Enter via Gate 4 and proceed west on Monash Rd; turn left at Wilson Ave; turn right at Kernot road; turn right and head north on Professor's Walk. Automatic doors are at the south-east entrance. Driving: From Royal Parade Car Park, exit via Genetics Lane; turn left onto Medical Road and continue right; turn right on Professors's Walk. Automatic doors are at the south-east entrance. The pathway on the North East side of Arts West (Building 148) provides a continuous accessible path of travel to the cloister via the gardens. Once in the undercover cloister there are automated doors at both the North-West and South-East ends of the building. Alternatively there is access off Medical Road. At this entrance there is a platform lift to ascend to ground level.

After entry instructions

The Object-based Learning Labs are wheelchair accessible: enter Arts West via Professor’s Walk using the southernmost automatic doors; via the ramp behind the main staircase proceed to the bank of three elevators on the North side to Level 2.

Toilet location

Accessible toilets are provided on every level in the North wing and on the ground floor. All toilets include identification signs and braille information.

Accessible parking

Accessible parking spaces are available in each of the car parks - University Square, Eastern Precinct and Royal Parade.
