Online Performance: I WANT TO DANCE WITH MY ATUA BODIES
Event description
I Want to Dance With my Atua Bodies is an exploration of the internal and external ecologies that influence the body of a contemporary wāhine. Rachel explores this within the context of remembering a Māori whakapapa of anatomy, the intersections of motherhood and performance making. A journey is undertaken in real time, unfolding as an experiment in sensation, desire, memory and potentials of movement and vibration. Domestic and wild objects are brought into the space as activators, characters, elements and provocations for the body to engage with. This performance will be intimate, personal and mythological; to open up spaces for contemplation and connections beyond the rational.
A one hour performance work by Rachel Ruckstuhl-Mann presented as a part of PRIVATE VS. PUBLIC PAWA 2021.
This work will now take place online, due to covid-19
