Event description

Limited Season - The hit science musical returns to Adelaide for the school holidays!

ABOUT THE SHOW

When Phoebe’s house is flooded during a storm, her parents take her to stay with her distant Uncle Linus in his rickety 200-year-old manor. With its many rooms and creaky floorboards, Phoebe just wants to be back home. That is until she discovers her uncle working away in a grand laboratory! As Linus shares some spectacular science experiments, Phoebe’s imagination takes over. Together, they weave the experiments into a magnificent story that uncovers what it means to be family.

The biggest lessons to be learnt aren't just ones of science…

INCREDIBLE SCIENCE

Although some moments might seem like magic, the experiments are purely science! From levitating crowns to shrinking keys, musical bottles to explosive geysers, and transforming silver into gold, I Wonder does more than wow, it activates a sense of curiosity that stays with you long after the show ends.

"Most importantly, the experiments and their explanations were briskly presented by Blacket without a hint of condescension...they became a fascinating and necessary part of the whole narrative, seamlessly woven into it."

- The Theatre Association of South Australia

ORCHESTRAL MUSIC
Original music is an integral part of every piece of theatre by The Flying Elephant Company. More than just catchy songs, I Wonder uses "illustrative" music to help tell its epic story. The music is produced with orchestral backing tracks that elevate the music, moving it into the world of the cinematic.

A SOUTH AUSTRALIAN PRODUCTION
Co-written by global YouTube sensation, Simon Blacket (Silly Science with Simon), and one of South Australia's premiere young composers, Benji Riggs, I Wonder opened in 2024 with sold out shows and toured schools the same year. This year, the musical returns to amaze Adelaide audiences with its catchy songs and incredible science once more.

Cast (alphabetically): Simon Blacket, Sophia Genery, Bethany Swift

Produced by Silly Science with Simon & The Flying Elephant Company
