The IAB Australia board has curated an invitation only event for the most senior leaders in the advertising and marketing industry. The Australian Leadership Summit builds on a strong global IAB tradition of leadership events and will give senior leaders a crucial opportunity to discuss shared challenges, debate the big issues and identify ways to positively shape the future of the industry. Â
400 decision makers from agencies, advertisers, publishers, platforms and ad tech companies as well as academics, government and regulatory representatives will be attending. Â
Content and discussions on the day will cover the economics of advertising investment, data governance and privacy, the regulatory landscape, the development of standards and tools for a responsible and effective industry, changes to media and marketing workforces, the impact of AI and more. Â

Two international IAB guests will be traveling to Australia specifically for this new event. Â
Dr. Daniel Knapp is Chief Economist at IAB Europe. He is an advertising and media analyst with more than 15 years of international experience. He has served in leadership roles spanning market analysis, strategic advisory, and business intelligence. In addition to his work with IAB Europe, he is also an associated expert on media and AI at the European Commission. Daniel received his PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE) on ‘The sociology of algorithms and the datafication of media’.Â
Daniel will be discussing global shifts in media investment, looking at the drivers for these changes, differences between markets and expected future trends. Daniel is an expert on the retail media space and will discuss the impact that this sector will have on the rest of the media market. Â
Anthony Katsur, CEO of IAB Tech Lab, is a media technology veteran with more than twenty-five years of executive leadership and technical experience at innovative technology companies in the digital media industry. Anthony has previously worked at Nexstar Media Group, Inc., the largest local broadcaster in the United States, Sonobi, Rubicon Project, MediaMath and DoubleClick. Â
Tech Lab works with the industry at large to develop guidelines, write specs, develop technology and provide services to bring alignment and standardisation to help the industry grow.Â
