ICIP in Music | Online sessions | Supported by NATSIMO and DLGSC
Event description
In 2023, the Australian Music Centre (AMC) released a First Nations Cultural Policy for Represented Artists, with the aim to guide the acknowledgement and attribution of Indigenous cultural intellectual property (ICIP).
Sharing our knowledge about ICIP in Australian music, these online information sessions are designed for music creators and organisations across Western Australia, including in remote and regional communities.
Participants will learn about what constitutes Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property (ICIP) , and how artists can work with First Nations material appropriately and respectfully, as we outline the legislation and resources available to you.
The sessions offer an opportunity to extend your knowledge about working with and building inclusive frameworks for Indigenous cultural content, aligned with the ‘First Nations First’ pillar of the national cultural policy.
Session duration: approx. 1 hour.
