Iconic Scarf Design Workshop - Mad March Edition

Join Artist & Designer FRIDA LAS VEGAS aka Stavroula Adameitis and enter the world of fashion design to design your very own scarf inspired by your personal icons and obsessions!

This is a totally unique hands-on workshop where you will be using analogue materials (textas, paint pens, coloured cardboard) to create your scarf print using simple tracing and collage techniques. No digital design, computer knowledge or prior drawing experience is required!

After you have completed the workshop, Stavroula will digitise your artworks ready for fabric printing using her skills gleaned from 15+ years experience as a professional designer. You will then receive your finished scarf in the mail 2 - 3 weeks later.

This is a fun and unique workshop for creative-curious people who are keen to try their hand at textile design in a fun, low-stakes way.

Here's the lowdown on how it all works 😎

WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP DESIGNED FOR?

• Adults aged 18+ 
• Anyone who would like to experience the joy of wearing something they have designed.
• Not suitable for kids or teens at this stage - sorry little ones, big kids only!

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

• Between 3 - 6 printouts of the personal icons you would like to draw for inclusion in your scarf textile design that fit onto an A4 page. Think about the print 'story' of your scarf. What are the icons that best represent you? They can literally be anything - objects, faces, places - it is entirely up to you!
• Printouts can be colour or black and white (colour might be more helpful for tracing).
• If you forget to bring printouts, we can print images in-studio.
• A water bottle & snacks. There is no on-site running water, however food and beverage shops are located close by in Adelaide Arcade.
• All other drawing and colouring materials are supplied.

HOW MANY PEOPLE IN A CLASS?

• There is a maximum of 4 spots available in each workshop.
• You will receive tutoring in a small group with quality instruction time from Stavroula in her fashion design studio.

HOW LONG DOES THE WORKSHOP GO FOR?

• 2 hours

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE WORKSHOP FINISHES?

• Stavroula will translate your drawings into print-ready digital files based on your design brief.
• Your textile design will be printed on 100% polyester fabric.
• Your scarf will be printed and fabricated in Australia.
• Your finished scarf will be posted directly to you.

IS THIS WORKSHOP ACCESSIBLE?

• Yes it sure is! The Frida Las Vegas Art Fashion Studio is located on level 1 (balcony level) of Adelaide Arcade, which has lift access from the ground floor and ramp access into the studio - more info here.
