ICS Workshop on Applying for a Future Fellowship: Tips on the Project Description, ROPE and Budget

Description: The Future Fellowship is a national ARC scheme that requires an ambitious goal, internationally leading knowledge production and compelling theoretical contributions to the field. By drawing on the experiences of former awardees, this workshop provides tips and tricks on the planning, writing and time management aspects of the intensive FT application process.

This workshop will take you step-by-step through writing the FT Project Description, ROPE statement on track record, and Budget sections. With reference to ARC guidelines and awardee insights, outcomes for attendees of this workshop include:

• Crafting two opening paragraphs in compelling ways that engage your readers

• A clear and systematic research design (‘architecture’) with appropriate approaches and methods

• Learning to address assessment criteria directly and explicitly

• Making the case for significance and innovation

• Ensuring a ‘red thread’ ties together different parts of the submission (alignment)

• Understanding the ‘impact pathway’ – outputs, outcomes, benefits
