    Event description

Get ready for the all-new youth (12 - 25 years) led LGBTQIA+ play!

Ida the Hobit and the Crystal Queer Deers is the story of Ida, a young person who starts her journey not quite understanding the LGBTQIA+ community.
She does something drastic at a friend’s birthday party, which she deeply regrets. As a result, Ida gets turned into a hobbit and must help her deer friends on their own journeys of self-discovery, as they each explore their LGBTQIA+ identities.

This theatre production is produced in an exciting collaboration between local young people; the Crystal Queer program run through Brimbank Youth Services; the Brimbank Youth Arts program from Creative Brimbank; the Brimbank FReeZA Committee; and the Duke Street Community House.

It will premiere at The Bowery Theatre on Friday, 15th November 2024, in celebration of Transgender Awareness Week.

This play is based off the Ida the Hobit and the Crystal Queer Deers podcast, produced by the Crystal Queer program and Duke Street Community House. Available on all streaming platforms now!
