IDAHOBIT 2026 - Self Care As Community Care
Description
May 17th is IDAHOBIT: International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination, and Transphobia! Each year, this day stands as a rallying point for folks from across the LGBTIQA+ community to stand together in opposition to the systems of oppression which lead to violence and discrimination against us.
The fight against LGBTIQA+ discrimination takes a lot of effort and a strong community, so it's essential that we look after ourselves so we can better look out for one another as well! That's why this year AGA is holding a community event to explore self-care as community care! Come and join us in a range of self-care activities and make connections with other members of your community!
Some of the activities you can expect include:
Making a self-care and affirmation jar
Paint your own mini plant pot
+ more...
Everyone who registers and attends will be given a self-care kit to take home!
This event is a space for all trans, gender diverse, and intersex people, as well as their friends and families! All are welcome!
---
We encourage all who come to events wear a facemask and are double vaccinated (and where possible have received your booster shot) unless you have a medical exemption.
Accessibility: AGA House is equipped with an accessible parking space, ramp entrance and an accessible bathroom. If you want to attend but are unsure if this event is accessible to you, please contact us at the contact details below.
