Family information evening: Senior Secondary Options and Post School Pathways

Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA) is an academy for young innovators, entrepreneurs and creatives aged 15 - 21 years.

At IDEA, we believe that the final years of school should be seen as the first two years of a young person’s career. Pathway planning and contemporary career guidance assists young people to make informed and strategic decisions about their future, and provides them an opportunity to explore how they can make their mark in the world. With the right information, including a full picture of the options available and access to the right experiences, young people can take advantage of the opportunities that await and kick start the next phase of their lifelong learning journey.

In this session, we’ll discuss these senior secondary options and post-secondary pathways as well as WACE requirements, alternatives and relevant career information. Parents and carers will also be provided information on how to have effective career conversations with their children.

This session will benefit home-educated students from the ages of 13+, and those in alternative education arrangements. It will also benefit students aged 13+ who are enrolled in school, but seeking more information on the options available to them within and outside of the mainstream education system.
