Event description

Join us for this practical and informative session with Cathy Harrison from Rookery Road, designed to help parents better understand learning differences—and how to support children who may be finding reading, writing, or maths more challenging.

Cathy will cover:

  • How to recognise signs that a child may be experiencing a learning difficulty

  • What steps to take if you’re starting to wonder whether your child might need support

  • Where to go for assessments and guidance

  • Which professionals and services can help

Cathy Harrison brings over 25 years of experience supporting children and adults with learning difficulties. She has worked across early intervention (0–6) and adult settings, and specialises in literacy intervention, parent advocacy, and school training.

About School Can’t Australia

School Can’t Australia was formed in 2014. Since then, thousands of families have come together to share lived experience, make sense of their children’s distress, and support one another through what can be a confusing and isolating journey. Together, we’ve shared resources, advocated for change, and helped shape a more informed and compassionate conversation about school attendance difficulties.

Attendance is free.
